The Hatchery began operations in 1960. Trout, walleye, perch, bass, bluegill, crappie, paddlefish, and pallid sturgeon are raised at this facility.  Several billion fish have been stocked from this hatchery!

HATCHERY TOURS, 1:00 PM Weekends and July 4: See the world’s only captive brood stock of the endangered Pallid Sturgeon and the operations that support the wide variety of fish raised in this impressive facility. Tour lasts about 20 minutes and is free of charge. Meet in front of the hatchery building.

NATURE HIKES, 10:00 AM Weekends and July 4 (weather permitting): See the local flora and fauna in a variety of habitats in this 2.3 mile loop of the hatchery grounds. Good hiking shoes are recommended. Hike lasts about 90 minutes and is free of charge. Meet at the picnic pavilion by the aquarium.
